Deja S. Mason was born on June 10th, 1995 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up singing around the house and at her local church home. At 8 years old, she moved away with her mother where they eventually settled in Dallas, Texas. From there her musical training and her prowess for advancing her craft began.

Deja is a classically-trained vocalist of 10 years that has the ability to sing not only classical works, but musical theatre and her favorite genres of gospel, R&B/Soul, Jazz, and Funk.

Deja is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her degree in Management and Human Resources with an emphasis in Management from the Wisconsin School of Business. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Arts in Arts and Creative Enterprise Leadership from the Bolz Center for Arts Administration (Wisconsin School of Business, UW-Madison).

She was President of Black Music Ensemble, which is now a student-run organization following the retirement of 2014 NEA Jazz Master Richard Davis, who created and led the group during his time as a professor. Deja was involved in the Mead Witter School of Music's Concert Choir for 2 years under the tutelage of renowned conductor, Beverly Taylor.
